Look, children when they play seem like little birds singing their joy, and you, why do you grow gloomy? Perhaps the sun does not warm you, the breeze does not ruffle your hair, and the flowers do not caress your gaze? Nothing satisfies you because you have sadness inside, continuously pushing yourself toward something that could make you happy. Once the moment passes, you start all over again. Search, therefore, deep in your heart and you will see that you lack the joy of loving and being loved.

Review by Joseph

Reading these pages is like rediscovering the ancient taste of genuine things where the sun shines high to illuminate our profound life. They are not vain words that leave a bitter taste in the mouth at the end after giving you the illusion of intelligent and original paths, but they leave in the heart the unexpected joy of discovery, the sensation of having walked on a path of light that will continue to accompany you every day regardless.

In the pages, the authors, already known to a good number of people who have received through their work a notable psychic and spiritual well-being, propose intense considerations aimed at providing very pertinent and illuminating indications for those who want to orient themselves in the vast sea of spiritual search.

Looking inside one's own soul is like diving into that transcendent universe before which the secrets of the cosmos are nothing but weak metaphors.

I have just finished reading your beautiful book "A Glimpse of the Soul", I really liked it a lot, it helped me in my reflections on Christian life. I am sending a brief comment of mine.

This book surprises with the richness and accessibility of its contents. An illuminating journey to discover the Master, through our daily experiences. Suffering shows us how we truly are. Suffering is a powerful ally of the Spirit, but few understand it. To reach the "sublime peaks of the Spirit" there are difficulties to overcome. Understanding pain in this way, as a means to draw closer to God and His infinite Love and not as misfortune or punishment; opening up and not closing off in the face of suffering, reveals a new reality to us, eliminates our sense of loneliness, helplessness, and despair to unveil the Truth of Love.

For all of us, it is possible to walk the path of holiness through Faith and prayer. Prayer with the heart is the bridge between the human and the divine. Out of Love, through prayer, one can ask and receive. In prayer, there is comfort, strength, and communication with the Most High. Today it seems the great power of prayer has been forgotten; people pray, and rarely, only when they are in difficulty, in despair.

Prayer should instead be a daily search for the Lord, a continuous turning to the Creator so as not to interrupt a bond full of spiritual gifts. Why do people not know or seem to have forgotten this? The Word is the bread of the Spirit, a "light that knows how to wait", a seed waiting to germinate in our heart and in our life. Where the mind cannot reach, the heart reaches without difficulty. Love is joy. Joy is thinking that the Lord loves us infinitely, one by one, and that He waits for us to seek Him, to open our hearts to Him.

Meditating on the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, participating with thought and heart in that atrocious, salvific suffering, alleviates our pains, purifies us, and illuminates us. Jesus left us His teachings and His example to teach us the way of Good that begins in this earthly life. Following the Master, denying oneself, taking up one's cross, being humble, willing to forgive, to love one's neighbor and enemies, distancing ourselves from the "noises" and flatteries of daily life are the actions that allow us to build, every day, the "Treasure", right here and now. With heartfelt thanks.

I had a beautiful sensation: I felt taken by the hand and guided through all the stages that the book presents to go towards God, and I realized that one topic is harmoniously correlated with the next.

Whoever reads the book is pervaded by a very great serenity and joy of belonging to a God so great, but also so small out of humility, to always be by our side, or rather, inside us through the Eucharist and the other Sacraments.

Sometimes there are very strong warnings that are a little frightening, but immediately there is a word, a phrase that reassures. It seems to me that the whole book follows a logical thread that helps to meet God; these are the topics that, like so many linked rings, make us prisoners of Christ, but it is a state of Love in which one feels at ease.

The concepts repeat themselves, and it is a good thing that they do; it is the Love of God for us, His immense Mercy, His infinite Goodness that requires from us much humility in recognizing Him and at the same time recognizing ourselves as needy of Him, of His help and His understanding.

As a backdrop throughout the book is the Mother par excellence, Mary, who takes us by the hand and invites us to go forward to put into practice everything that is contemplated during the reading of the book. I felt her benign and loving presence that accompanied me in the reading and gave me so much serenity.

This is an interesting, beautiful, profound book that does good. Everything is explained with clarity and simplicity and, at the same time, in depth. I wish for every person to read it because they will find so much good in this volume.

The book "A Glimpse of the Soul" made me work hard; after reading it well twice, I could not grasp its message. Reading a book should enrich me with new concepts and give me messages that awaken my curiosity for deeper understanding and inner growth. After a pause to relax the mind, I resumed reading and the message arrived strong and clear.

"Cleansing one's own Soul" illuminated my mind and I grasped the subject, Confession. I researched diligently and discovered that I knew little. I made a sincere and painful introspection into my inner "self", to verify occurrences, facts, thoughts, opinions, and how, when, and why I gave them a response, a solution, an expression, which in hindsight, was wrong. The in-depth knowledge of its authentic meaning gave a turning point to my life.

I felt like that servant in the parable of the Talents to whom the Master gives a single talent, and he, out of fear, laziness, ignorance, and lack of resources, instead of daring and making it fruitful, buries it, to return it later without fruit.

Spiritual reading, both of my books and yours, has opened a breach to begin a true spiritual journey aimed at filling my ignorance, but above all to have faith, and to love Jesus and Mary just as I know them now.
